My paintings draw inspiration from my love of the natural world, particularly floristry. Organic shapes and colour, often offset by hard lines and marks, play a major role in my work, utilising the contrast of materials and techniques to facilitate my creative response.
The Process
I use the canvas to paint and transform the original starting point by adding history and layers for interpreting the personal and universal impact of daily life. It is a process based on instinct and emotional response through the power of the chosen medium unhindered by any sense of expectation or control.
